Twilight

twilight_books

Okay okay, I know it's the book to read nowaday! So I did it...
I'm afraid it's a kind of drug... Well, I've started the first one in my Christmas holidays, read in 3 days (coz I was busy) and I've finished the 4th two days ago. I was stuck in my coach for 3 days (and night) to finish it. For me it was real holidays to be at home reading the 2nd and 3rd books! But in this case it was more because I couldn't stop! I was almost annoyed to go back to work because I didn't have much time to read the 4th...
Well, my point of view is that it's a book for GIRLS! I won't say "only", but you must be a very romantic boy to like this story! lol There isn't big action, it's more about feelings and desire. It's more or less what we can consider as a Sojo* more thant a Shonen**. Sometime something happen when there are the vampire or the werevolfes, but as you're in Bella's head, it's just about her feelings and thought, and she's not really active... she drives a car, walks in the forest, sleeps in her room, think again and again about what said so-and-so... It's not to make a bad comment about it because I loved the book, but just to be objective.
In the first book, I loved Ed. But as it gets deeper in the story especially from the second one, I think that he and Bella always blames themselfs and always say "it's my fault, no it's mine, no it's mine...". That's kind of annoying. But still a lovely love story. They want to be together, they love each other so much, that you almost believe it can be true in the real life!
Then, I really hated her in the end of the 3rd book til the third part of the 4th. Why? Because I love Jacob of course! And she really behave not like a friend but a spoiled girl, stupid and selfish. I know, she's in love with Ed... But I was so sad for Jacob... Hopefully, Stephenie Meyer save the face and introduce Renesme (what a name?!) who compensate a bit the loneliness of Jacob. After all he's been trough, he deserves joy!
I'm happy of the end anyway. Everything ends well and it's a really nice story. I was really into it, that's why I loved and hated Bella from a moment to the other. I really appreciate that we had a (short) view of Jacob's mind. He's so sweet, honest and strong in his feelings! He always kept his promise to her. She's so lucky! ;)
If you go to Stephenie Meyer page (www.stepheniemeyer.com), you'll have some news about Midnight Sun. It's the same story, but from Ed's view. All the fans must know about it... but still. I think it will help me to feel closer to him. Because, I can feel close to Bella (I'm a girl and I have a heart), to Jacob as well (I was a "best friend" too), but Ed is just a face (if I cans say so) We don't know much about his thought and feelings. Just what he says, but I remember a sentence, where (Alice I think) said that Bella doesn't realize how he changed since he met her... but we don't know more about how he was. Except that he's always blaming himself about what he is... but I want to know more!
I think that all the girls will like this serie because it's so romantic and you can dream about the boy you may like, there are great profile such as Jasper or Emmet, I like Garett too and some of the "bad vampire" like Aro who is quite interesting.

I'm just afraid about the movie... I haven't seen it yet (I know...no comments), and I'm so scared that it will be just a teen movie... I go to watch it on Sunday. I'll tell you later so. But just with the teaser and pictures from some magazines I bought, I have to say that I don't like Jacob. He's not like I'd imagine. Okay, maybe for the first book coz he's still a teenager, but later, he is more mature and taller than the actor they've chosen... but do I have a choice? We'll see how this little boy do with my favourite character. I hope I won't be disappointed. In another hand... I admit that Robert Pattison is quite close to Edward, even if I prefer the picture made by Marty86 on koinup.com. ^^

The Fifth Element

5thelement_Eposter

Well, I'll stared by this incredible movie that is The Fifth Element. Why? Because it is my favourite! I really love it. Actually, it's for other reason than just Bruce Willis. Okay, he's handsome and a great defender of the Earth (as usual), but in this movie they use his image with irony and I really like it! Remember the scene when the priest say "we have to save the world son", which is Bruce Willis work in almost every movie he made. I really laught each time.
Of course the humour is evident in the dialogue, but it's not just that. I love this movie because of the perfect link shot. This film is a really great technical movie moreover its quality of script and pictures. The way each sequences are connected is very pleasant for someone who appreciate the technique. The more obvious example would be the sequence where Zorg is asking about the Stones and that it's Leeloo who explain it but not to him! Love it!
The crew was fantastic as well, for example Jean-Paul Gaultier for the incerdible costumes! He's a great designer. I don't say it just because he IS Jean-Paul Gaultier, but because I really appreciate his universe. The atmosphere he create in his work and the way I feel always like a child in a marvelous world.

5thelement_bookWhat about the set? In the book "The story of the fifth element" by Luc Besson, Intervista, you may see great drawings of the characters, the universe of the story, some wonderful spacecraft, rough from the taxi or some rooms such as Zorg's office. I'd say some name like Moebius and Mézière who were deeply involved and created the picture of the Mangalores.
Well, this movie is the best example (for me) of Luc Besson's talent. I like the story, the love story, the charactere, the technique, the set, the dialogue, everything fits together and is very well made. There are no lacuna in the script, it is thinking in a global story and everything is linked.
It's a good example of a movie who mix a good story with the effects that are use to serve (and not the other way around...) and very beautyful pictures thanks to the design of the set and the costumes.
One last word: if you haven't watch it yet... do you realize that this movie has 12 years old?? What did you wait for?!

Who am I ?

(I've made it like an interview coz I prefer sentences as just words in a list... nothing narcissist or such as schizophrenia)

What's your name and where do you come from ?
Hi, my name is Melodie. I'm French (and consequently :proud of it and ashame of it. It's quite a paradox beeing French!) I come from the south of France. I was born in Marseille and used to live in the countryside next to it.

How old are you?
Euh... 1/4 of century ^^

Hum, okay. So, what do you do in your life?
I'm a freelance graphic designer. I'm specialize in publishing, what I love ! I'm fond of magazines, books and everything that has to do with writing and pictures!

Why are you making this web page ? Do you need to be known or famous?

(laught) No... not such things. I'm kind of "against" the incredible machine that is internet (even if I'm working in communication, and that beats everything!). I think that there is too much things and it's quite easy to get lost in it. But also, it's for me a great tool to look for informations and knowledge. It's a good way to communicate, even if too much people are intervene in the web and that there are false data spread everywhere; but it's a good invention to make people sharing thoughts, ideas or point of view.
By the way, I'm not looking for beeing famous ! Oh my God ! I leave it to the people who like to show up and wiggle in front of a camera. I like to be underground. Well, not in the gutter either. But I'd like to be able to speak and discuss my point of view with some other people that may be alike, different or opposit as me. Don't take it as a "miss univers" slogan, it's just that I like sharing ideas and talking.

What are the topics you'd like to talk about? Are you a fond defender of "peace and love" in the world and want everybody know about it? Or the kind of person that think their great sentences may change the world?

Whaou ! Well, not such a person I hope. Of course I have some ideas about what is right and what is wrong for me. But there are as many truth as human on earth. So I will not judge, as possible, or make great deal about what people do, except if I really think it's deeply wrong, dishonest or cruel. For sure I have a point of view and things to say, but I won't force anybody to follow my mind. For me everybody is free. Well I mean it in the way Sartres said it : "be responsible for your actions", "never said it's not my fault coz YOU did the choice", "every action has a consequences" (no need to watch "Jumper" to know that !).
So I may talk about philosophie for sure. I'm a great defender of Sartres thought. He really inspired me in my way of thinking. But I've make this page to talk about fun things as well. I mean, I love cinema, books and art. Please, don't go away! I'm not watching only american movies, read V.I.P. magazines and know only that La Joconde is a painting and VanGogh a painter ! (laught)

So what are YOU interested in ?
First I'd like to talk about books. My favourite author is Richard Matheson. He's a fantastic writter! (in the two meanings of "fantastic"!). Every piece is special. There is always something that you didn't expected in the end, and he talks a lot about the human beeing, vices or spark of courage. My favourite novel is "I am a legend" (and I've read it a long time before this bloody stupid movie that has only the same title!! XoX). It's all I love in the same story: vampires, loneliness, hope, love, disapointment... human and consequences! He's the number one on my top list. I like Ray Bradbury as well. It's more soft and poetic the way he's writing. I've really enjoyed "Farhenheit 451" (for the most famous piece). Stephen King of course... but I'll have the time to explain more.
Secondly there is the cinema. Movies! I'm in love with stories. I'm in love with the technique and the power of the pictures. To be short, I love Luc Besson and Tim Burton's work to make you see the atmosphere I like the most. But it's not only that. I like English humour and movies, always deep in the emotion ; animated movies, mostly from Japan ; and yes... I admit... (but it breaks my heart) I like... musicals and love stories...

Really... Do you?
Yes... I really like it. My favourite musical will be "Across the universe", but I loved "Mamma Mia" and ... "High school musical"... But it's just my little weakness (smile)

Well, okay. Is there anything else you'd like to talk about?
I think I will mostly talk about movies and books. I like poetry and will talk about Baudelaire and all that I'll read new in this topic. As I said, philosophie from time to time.
I like drawing as well (as it was what I studied!), so I will post some of my work. Or talk about my favourite painters or artists (but be aware that I hate modern art and think I've stop beeing interested since I learned about Pop Art...)

You seems to be interested in arts, but what about music?
Oh, it's not my easier part. I love music... my name is Melodie! But I'm a crappy singer and player. I've tryed guitare... no gifted. I used to play saxophone... but stoped. For now I learn on my own harmonica, and I like it. We'll see what happen.
Otherwise, I listen to really differents things. From "Asian Kung Fu Generation" to "The Sound", the "Offsprings" or "Greenday", of course "Oasis" (I was a teenager when I first hear them), mostly rock music and pop. I like classic as well but not as a "great listener". Of course French singer as well. My top of the list is Damien Saez... but I have too much to say about his music, so I'll make a post (or more) only about him. (For me he's the
reincarnation of Baudelaire!).

And the writing thing ?
Well, I do write some stuff and I'd like to have comments on it. It's in French for the moment, but I'll translate it later for sure.

Good, you have a lot of things to say ! We hope for you that you will find people to answer you and be part of your conversation. We'll come from a next interview later. By this time, we wish you will write a lot as you promised. Good luck!
Thanks ^^

My page and me

Welcome ^^
I wanted to create this page to talk (as everyone) about me, what I like, love or not, and maybe share with other people.
I have some idea about what I'd like it to be. I'd like to talk about cinema first, which is on the top 2 of the things I love. Then about books. All kind of books : poetry, teens series or books for children, theatre sometimes, science fiction for most of it.
I like stories, reading and writing. Well, I'm not a big writter, but I wish I could write some good stuff at some point in my life.... Whatever, I'll post some of my work here. It might be in French for most of it, but I'll try to take the time to translate in English as much as I can.
Why do I write this page in English? As a French girl I should write in French and lots of my work will be in my mother language. English is a language that can be read by almost everyone. So I hope I will not make too much mistakes and be clear for everyone. I'll introduce myself more in the next spot.
Thanks for reading and maybe sharing your comments and ideas with me.
